ZAGAT...it’s got a “cool beyond cool” Belltown vibe that’s “bustling and fun”, and the “flawless” New American cuisine boasts “knock your socks-off flavors” from “local, fresh ingredients”...“delicious” “twists on classic” cocktails. SEATTLE PI...Staples...and their experienced staff deliver a night that's full of polish as well as pleasure, a sense that they know what they're doing but are still having fun creatively. At its best... Zoe ranks up with the finest New American restaurants in town...it's worth the money, from the first slice of house-made bread to the last profiterole...As you pass and look in the wide windows, the inside beckons.
FROMMERS...Belltown is packed with trendy, upscale restaurants where being seen is often more important than the food being served. This is definitely not one of those places...Chef/owner Scott Staples mines the bounties of the Northwest to prepare his seasonal fare, preparing such dishes as wild-boar Bolognese with arugula pappardelle pasta. Risotto here is reliably good and changes with the seasons. For dessert, try one of the tarts with seasonal fruit.
Seattle Metropolitan: 40 of the City's Top Restaurants. The toast of Belltown since the second it opened, this chef-owned haunt is serious about its food...Diners can choose from small plates, pastas, soups, salads, Mediterranean-influenced mains, and a particularly impressive selection of pátés and foie gras...and none of which ever sacrifices substance to style. Desserts are bliss-outs...that ought to be injected directly into a vein.
